teh movie freak rides again.
The Oscar Nomination List is out!!!
things I'm thrilled about:
- Best Actor nods for both Don Cheadle (Hotel Rwanda) and Johnny Depp (Finding Neverland). I love both actors, but honestly believe that Don Cheadle deserves the win. He won't. We all know it, but let's face it: his performance was the most powerful.
- Imelda Staunton being nominated for her work in Vera Drake. I'm very upset that Vera Drake hasn't come out around here, and that nobody's heard of it. The concept is something that I find to be amazing, and I really want to see this.
- The Village is nominated for best original score!! I've been playing the music from this for quite some time now, and just-- wow! It gives me the goosebumps everytime I hear the songs Those We Do not Speak Of or the Gravel Road. The score is sometihng that I highly reccomend. And THIS is also a giant laugh in the face to all of you guys who thought I was crazy. Apparently, I'm not alone in liking this.
- Super Size Me is nominated for Best Documentary, and I'm willing to put my money on a win for it. It was amazing, and since watching it, I haven't been able to even look at fast food joints the same.
Things I found to be hallarious/wack
- The Incredibles are nominated for FOUR awards. Four! This movie sucked- what the heck?
- Anybody else find it that the two leads from Closer aren't nominated, but both of their supporting counterparts are?
- The Aviatorleads the pack with 11 nominations, unsurprisingly
